Waverley City History
Waverley City Netball Association Incorporated (WCNA) was formed in February 1980.Ourcompetition is based at the Waverley Netball Centre, Glen Waverley, set amongst picturesque Jells Park.The Waverley Netball Centre comprises 4 indoor and 8 outdoor courts.
We host two thousand five hundred (2,500) players and spectators every Saturday from February to December, 9:00am – 5:00pm.
Our players are eligible to trial for our WCNA Representative teams. These teams represent the Association in Wednesday and Thursday eveningcompetitions as well as numerous tournaments that are played around the state throughout the year.
Numerous WCNA players have been awarded scholarships to attend the Victorian Institute of Sport and the Australian Institute of Sport. Many of our talented players have moved on to state league teams, national league teams and Australian teams including the open national team and 21/U national team; the most notable of whom is Commonwealth champion, Nicole Richardson.
